Chandler has been a prominent Phoenix suburb for quite some time, but the last few years have seen its economy balloon very quickly. Some of the neighborhoods within Chandler make it very inviting for families like affordable homes for sale in Cooper Commons and Fox Crossing affordable properties. Intel has four nearby locations, and one of its factories was the first to be designated “environmentally sustainable” under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design criteria. The technology sector is actually responsible for a good portion of the recent growth (Motorola has a plant here, too), employing roughly a quarter of the city’s non-governmental employees. Chandler Fashion Center is another key factor in the upturn, having opened its doors in 2001 and boasting 1.3 million square feet of commerce. The local economy one very good reason to live here, but Chandler’s proximity to downtown Phoenix is also a great impetus to relocate to the area. Chandler has fantastic recreation facilities and schools for the kids, the Chandler Center for the Arts is a wonderful performance venue, and its downtown area is absolutely packed with high-character shops and restaurants.
