Gilbert is unique in that it is the largest unincoporated town in the United States. This is due to the fact that it is a fairly young town, having just made the transition from an agricultural community to a residential area in the 1970s. The town is indeed young, which makes it dynamic, and easily adaptable to modern demands.  If this is the type of place where you would enjoy living, there are many new homes for sale in Gilbert and the roughly 180 neighborhoods that make up this fine town in Arizona.
