With our high desert winds, utility poles can be quite dangerous. When they get knocked down they cause power outages and damage to cars or property. In fact some of the wildfires in California were started by damaged utility poles. One neighborhood along Carefree Drive banded together to raise the money to have four poles removed and replaced with underground wiring. The town of Carefree pitched in 25% of the cost. Now, the community is not only safer but has an unobstructed view of the mountains.
